By using this site or registering with Rare Blood Connect, you agree to the following.

What this service is

Rare Blood Connect is a voluntary register that helps connect people with rare blood groups to patients who need them. We coordinate introductions. We do not collect, store, test, transport or deliver blood, and we take no part in the medical care of any patient.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice. The educational material here is general information, reviewed for accuracy but not tailored to anyone’s situation. It does not replace your doctor, and you should not act on it in place of clinical guidance.

Not an emergency service

Rare Blood Connect is not an emergency service. We cannot arrange urgent transfusions and this site is not monitored around the clock. In an emergency, contact your hospital or blood bank directly, or call your local emergency number.

No guarantee of a match

Registering a request does not guarantee that a compatible donor will be found, that they will be available, or that a donation will happen. Donors are volunteers and may decline any request for any reason. Nothing here creates an obligation on any donor to donate.

Requests come through a clinician

Requests for blood must be confirmed by a treating doctor, blood bank or pathologist. You may not use this service to solicit blood directly from donors, and you may not use the register to contact donors outside the coordinated process.

Acceptable use

• Give accurate information about yourself, and keep it up to date.
• Do not register on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge and agreement.
• Do not attempt to identify, contact or approach a donor or patient outside the coordinated process.
• Do not offer, request or accept payment for blood or for a place on the register.
• Do not scrape, copy or republish any part of the register.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

Intellectual property

The text, design and educational material on this site belong to Rare Blood Connect or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for personal or educational use with attribution. You may not republish them commercially without permission.

Liability

We provide this service in good faith and without charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for outcomes arising from the availability or unavailability of a donor, from decisions made by any clinician, or from information given to us by a third party. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to registered members.
